So how can you make your sales letter stand out from the crowd? A sales letter is only one page long and so you only get one shot. Make it count! Below are some of the ideas that might help you out.
You should put yourself in your customer's shoes. Pretend for a minute that you are being the customer that is being asked to buy the digital information that you are, in reality trying to sell. Ask yourself why you would want to buy this product. Ask yourself how this product can make you look better, feel better, make more money, have more fun or providing you the vital information that you desperately needed to solve a problem. Just look at what you are selling through the eyes of the buyer. By doing so, you can know what are the needs of your potential buyers and produce a product which can be a big hit.
Next, the headline is very important. You have got to grab the readers attention in the first few words of your sales letter or else it is a lost cause. The headline must grab and hold the readers attention when they open your sales letter and read on it. It needs to be short, sweet and straight to the point to make them continue reading. If the readers feel that your sales letter is boring or dull, they will just close it and never open it again. You have lost your potential buyers. So, the headline is really important in helping you making sales by selling product online.
Furthermore, you should get your words and thoughts to be organized. A sales letter basically has three parts. There is the introduction, the sales pitch and the conclusion. The introduction is used to tell the reader why you are contacting them. The sales pitch is the body of the letter. In it you tell them about the product that you want to sell and how it will make their lives better in some way. The conclusion is used to give them irresistible reasons why they should definitely purchase your product and the means to do so.
The four and last point is fine tune your sales letter so that it will look professional. Check to see whether you have done the following things well are:
- Is your letter written in a conversational style rather than in formal business way? People tend do not like to be spoken in formal terms. They prefer and will likely to respond to a friendly and conversational tone much easier.
- Are the sentences in your letter short or long? Long rambling sentences are confusing to a reader and they will have difficulty to understand what message you are trying to tell them. So, the more conversational the tone of your sales letter is, the sentences naturally become shorter and thus your reader will be easier to understand.
- How many paragraphs are there in your letter? Several short paragraphs are preferable to 2 or 3 long ones.
- Have you used the spell check function and assume that the letter is grammatically correct in every way? Misspelled words and grammatical errors will make you sound DUMB in the readers eyes. So make sure that your sales letter is error free.
